Independent planning review
Reviewer: read-only agent /root/verified_bootstrap_plan_review.
Scope: the coordinated soft3 ceremony, Trident VB plan/index/ledger/memory and Rs
roadmap, active-plan pointer, compiler reference and README. Document identities
are recorded by the coordinated check-docs.py invocation in the three receipts.
The review found and the final revision corrected:
- Eidos product acceptance could depend on the compilers it was needed to justify. Root logic/model availability is now separate from final E1–E4 product acceptance. RS8 uses the already reviewed root; E4 can wait for RS8; RS9 feeds VB8 and has no E4/VB8 prerequisite.
- An interpreter executing the same compiler source could be mistaken for an independent compiler implementation. The separate Trident compiler and all critical operation pairs remain mandatory.
- Rs README's unqualified compatibility percentage and historical size estimates contradicted the open compatibility gate. It now describes the current rustc driver and links the outstanding own-source/compatibility obligations.
| Review dimension | Final assessment |
|---|---|
| Determinism | Exact recipes, artifact comparisons and randomness boundaries specified |
| Bounded locality | Source/import/storage caps and adequate successful-work bounds separated |
| Arithmetic | Native word semantics, Goldilocks and ISA obligations distinguished |
| Cryptography | Complete scoped prover/verifier, private profiles and secret handling retained |
| Types | B/L domains, ownership, lifetimes and profile admission explicit |
| Errors | Exhaustion, unsupported features and failed linking reject |
| Adversarial input | Changed artifacts/statements, hidden helpers and positive controls covered |
| Architecture | Root/product dependency cycle resolved; RS8/RS9 independent of E4/VB8 acceptance |
| Readability/status | Accepted design distinguished from all-open implementation gates |
| Compactness | Component ownership and cross-document responsibilities consistent |
| Performance | Seed-size estimates remain projections; measurement and successful-resource gates retained |
| Testability | Planned executable acceptance checks and required receipts specified |
Final readback verdict: passed, no remaining blockers. Ceremony executors, sources, inputs, outputs, native artifact obligations, platform matrices and owner-controlled branch/release policy are consistent. The metaprogramming addition preserves the B/L distinction and claims no implemented new syntax. This was a documentation/architecture review. No builds, execution tests or formal proofs were performed by the reviewer.
