what blocks the bostrom root
Not row 43. state::load fills every dimension first and would commit once
(the bulk-build path); the per-operation recommit measured on 2026-09-27
(cybergraph/audit/import-commit-cost-2026-09-27.md) is never entered, and
the whole load is a minute.
The block is the commitment size cap: lens/brakedown/src/lib.rs
MAX_VARIABLES = 20 — one dimension commits as a multilinear polynomial of
at most 2^20 field elements, and commit_fields panics past it (hit on the
first run; the builder now reports instead). bostrom needs:

Two engine inflations sit inside those numbers and are worth removing before
the cap is lifted: BbgState::insert writes a zero balance for both
endpoints of every link (3,289,287 balance entries for 93,472 real), and
every link becomes an axon-particle record in particles (4.76 M entries for
3.14 M content particles). chain.md §3.3 expects a hemera-digest fallback
above BRAKEDOWN_EVAL_CAP = 2^16; the pinned bbg has no such cap and no
NeuronRecord.nonce — both are bbg changes this pipeline follows, and both
move the pussy root when they land.
